Job Description: Currently, we are seeking a talented Regulatory Reporting Senior Consultant to join the Retirement Solutions Division based in Newport Beach, CA. The Retirement Solutions Division leverages its strengths in product development, technology, services and risk management to create retirement solutions for individuals, families, and businesses. With the guidance of financial professionals, customers have access to an array of annuities and mutual funds designed to help grow assets and to provide retirement income for financial independence. POSITION SUMMARY: This person will be responsible for responding to regulatory agency requests for information, data calls, ad hoc reporting and other requests received from the SEC, FINRA, the state Departments of Insurance, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and other regulatory bodies. Will work closely with RSD Compliance, Finance, Operations, the PMO, Technology, Corporate Compliance, Audit, Legal and other departments to achieve key division and company objectives. Responds to information requests from regulatory agencies (e.g., SEC and state Departments of Insurance) in collaboration with compliance and audit departments; translates and identifies requirements; and manages tasks within Technology to delivery accurate and timely information and reports. Uses independent judgment to assess each assignment in terms of priority, criticality, scope and availability of sources of information. Develops creative and effective solutions to meet the needs of the unique and complex information requests, ensuring appropriateness of solutions within the larger context of the business/compliance needs and objectives. Works closely with RSD Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Operations, Internal Audit and Law Department on providing necessary data necessary to respond to customer inquiries and complaints, distribution partners request for data (i.e., 22c2 reporting), as well as data requested to enable distribution partners to respond to regulatory inquiries received. Defines information requirements and works with DSBI and programmers to develop detailed data and report specifications. Defines acceptable electronic format for output, including delivery/transmission method. Ensure the accuracy and completion of source system data provided to external agencies. Source system data typically consists of contract data, in both printed and electronic formats. Work with all appropriate Technology teams with RSD to ensure consistence of data reported across multiple platforms, for multiple lines of business. Develops high level work plans, using creativity in approach to meet short/non-negotiable deadlines. Ensures deadlines are understood, communicated and met. Coordinates activities of RSD Technology resources, and interfaces with PMO, audit and compliance departments. Ensures that all projects are identified, logged, assigned, prioritized, tracked and delivered, with appropriate level of quality assurance and verification. Serve as a liaison with division management on these initiatives as needed to ensure requirements are gathered and appropriate communications occur. Sign off on deliverables. Provide analysis, information and recommends potential solutions for logged RSD Compliance customer complaints that have a technology and/or systems components, as assigned by management. Monitors and reports on applicable remediation progress and status. Protect confidentiality of information requests and information output as required. Other related projects as assigned by management. FACTORS FOR SUCCESS: *Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent work experience required. *Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail *Proven ability to quickly adapt to new developments and changing priorities and meet critical deadlines *Good technical background and understanding of business and technology solutions within the retirement products space.
